The Bob Yost Collection includes books, booklets from the International Correspondence School, Northern Pacific Railroad Annual Reports to the Interstate Commerce Commission, VHS tapes on railroading, DVD's on railroading, photographs, posters, timetables, memorabilia, and ephemera.
The Bob Moen Collection is comprised of pictures of timber bridges and the construction of the coaling tower at Kalispell, Montana and one blueprint of the timber bridge at Coram, Montana.
The Bob Heirman Collection consists of equipment manuals, rule books, timetables, personnel records including seniority lists, ephemera, approximately 30 photographs, maps and published books and magazines. Railroads covered include principally the Great Northern, Northern Pacific, Burlington Northern, and other Railroads including the Camas Prairie; Chicago, Burlington and Quincy; and Seattle and International Railway for the period between 1905 and 2016.
In 2008 the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, now BNSF, transferred a large collection of materials to institutions in the Saint Paul, Minnesota area. The Great Northern Railway Historical Society received approximately 4700 items consisting of right of way maps, plat maps, station maps, filing maps, geographic maps, state maps, mechanical drawings, as well as facility and structure drawings. In addition the materials contained engineering study records, and documents and ledgers of various kinds. The date range for these materials are from 1854 to 2008.
The Bjarne Overlie Collection includes motion picture film of Northern Pacific Railroad Company track improvement projects and Bjarne Overlie's personal expense diaries between 1959 and 1973.
