Great Northern Rail Detector Car 2 at Spokane, Washington, 1934

Great Northern Rail Detector Car 2, believed to be the first rail detector car used on the Great Northern Railway, jointly owned by the Great Northern, Northern Pacific, and Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy. The tracks in background were part of the Union Pacific West Spokane Yards, Spokane, Washington. From the David Emerson Collection, a Maynard Rikerd photo taken in 1934.
