Biographical history
When William McKinley Woody was born on December 16, 1894, in Barnard, Kansas, his father, Aaron, was 48 and his mother, Mary, was 35. He married Florence Ella Brown on May 18, 1915, in Chehalis, Washington. He worked for the Oregon Washington Railroad & Navigation Company and it's parent, the Union Pacific Railroad Company. From circa 1942-1959 he worked principally in The Dalles, Oregon area. William and Florence had six children in 14 years. He died on June 10, 1971, in Hood River, Oregon, at the age of 76, and was buried there.

The William M. Woody Collection comprises 7 digital photographs, principally of William M. Woody in or adjacent to steam locomotives he operated as a fireman and engineer for the Oregon-Washington Railroad and Navigation Company between 1942 and 1959.
